Abstract

A substance that has the ability to flow is referred to as a fluid. Fluids are broadly classified into two types: liquids and gases. The branch of physics that deals with the behavior of fluids at rest is known as fluid statics. The combined study of fluid statics and the behavior of fluids in motion, known as fluid dynamics, is termed fluid mechanics. Nano fluid is a colloidal mixture in which a base fluid (water, oil, ethylene glycol, etc.) is mixed with nanometre-sized particles (metals, carbides, oxides or carbon nanotubes). Nano fluids tend to upgrade and stabilize the thermal properties of the fluid which marked a revolution in the field of fluid dynamics. The description of a system using mathematical concepts and language is known as mathematical model and the process of developing a mathematical model is known as mathematical modelling. Mathematical models and its use in natural sciences, engineering disciplines and social sciences. A mathematical model helps to explain a system and to study the effects of different components and also to make predictions about its behaviour. The thesis entitled Studies on nanofluids: convection flows and diverse applications has been arranged into 7 chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the basic concepts, preliminaries and definitions to the reader. Chapter 2 explains The Impact of Volume Fraction and Nanoparticles in the Flow of Nanofluids Along the Boundary Layer Over a Flat Plate. Chapter 3 explains Impact of Volume Fraction on Boundary Layer Flow of Nanofluids Over a Moving Plate. Chapter 4 explains Effect of Mixed Convection, Plate Inclination, and Nanoparticle Volume Fraction on Nanofluid Boundary Layer Flow. Chapter 5 contains Application of Nanofluids. Chapter 6 and 7 present the concluding remarks of the thesis and proposals for future work.
