A country is a place that is not confined within geographical boundaries but is shaped and evolved in the light of each person's experiences. These experiences are part of culture. It includes the cultural and social aspects of the region. In this essay titled Cultural History of Irinjalakuda: A Critical Approach, the different areas that have shaped the cultural background of the region of Irinjalakuda are critically analyzed. This essay analyzes the experiences of various caste communities that have been excluded from mainstream history. History is the result of human interventions in each era. The concept of history has come a long way from being a description of people's paths and governments. Democratic historical consciousness also marks the life of the common man. It is now recognized that the space that makes human life possible cannot be marked simply geographically and is something that is being transformed along with cultural evolution. It is in this context that the political map gives way to the cultural map. Efforts to find a cultural map beyond the linear boundaries of the political map will provide more detailed knowledge about the people. No knowledge is complete. It will continue to grow with changes in time, with corrections and updates according to the needs of the times. It is a realization that knowledge is being reconstructed. However, any scientific project can only move forward by continuing the search for truth carried out by the ancients. The realization that knowledge provides gives man the opportunity to build and change his surroundings. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper consists of five chapters, namely, history and cultural studies, methodological issues, nation and society, scientific tradition, modernization of Irinjalakuda, and art and literature, and a detailed bibliography. When we historicize cultural texts, we can find that the history of a people is not monolithic but is a dynamic stream with many layers. The region called Irinjalakuda has played a major role in the formation of Kerala's culture. This study, focusing on Irinjalakuda, proves that the history of Kerala is also the history of a people without continuity or expansion.
