| dc.description.abstract | This research provides a general analysis of Indian philosophical traditions, their practical applications, and the context in which Vivekananda’s philosophy emerged. It evaluates the interpretations of Indian philosophies in Kerala through the lens of Vivekananda’s ideas. Additionally, it offers a broad review of the literary creations in Malayalam that were influenced by his philosophy. The study observes that organizations in Kerala such as the Ramakrishna Mission and SNDP founded under the leadership of Sree Narayana Guru, played significant role in Kerala’s progress. The concept of an organization led by a socially influential monk, which was a novel idea at the time, was introduced to Dr. Palpu by Vivekananda. Vivekananda’s philosophy helped to shape both the external and internal aspects of the Kerala Renaissance. One of the most significant literary responses to his ideas in Malayalam literature is found in the poetic life of Kumarasan. Social discriminations such as untouchability and caste restrictions in Kerala Society were challenged and gradually eliminated. Vivekananda's influence, both direct and indirect, strengthened the values of equality and humanism in Malayalam literature. Modern Kerala society and Malayalam literature owe much to Vivekananda’s ideas. | en_US |
