The study concludes that labour migration to Kerala’s construction sector is influenced by the strong factors such as socioeconomic deprivation, economic opportunity, andsocial networks. Migration yields tangible improvements in savings, investment, and debt reduction for migrant households. However, it also exposes migrants to significant life challenges, particularly in health, accommodation, and workplace exploitation. The research bridges a critical gap in the literature by empirically dissecting the determinants of migration, positive financial transformation, the role of intermediaries, and the lived experiences of interstate migrants in Kerala’s vibrant construction sector.
