Abstract
The topic of research is Influence of Kerala Start-Up Mission on EntrepreneurialEcosystem in Kerala. The objectives of the study include Examination of theschemes, programmes, events and support services of Kerala Start up Mission forpromoting entrepreneurship in Kerala; Investigation of the entrepreneurialecosystem in the State of Kerala; exploration of the role of core support servicesprovided by the KSUM in shaping the ecosystem, and analysis of differences inperception among entrepreneurs based on socio-demographic characteristics;Examination of the levels of attitude, motivation, self-efficacy, risk tolerance andinnovativeness among entrepreneurs in Kerala, and to analyze the association ofthese traits with their socio-demographic and organizational characteristics;Empirically testing a moderated serial mediation model in which the impact of start-up support services on the entrepreneurial ecosystem is mediated through thesequential influence of attitude, motivation, and self-efficacy, and moderated byentrepreneurs’ risk-taking behavior, and; Extraction of the mediating role of risktolerance in the relationship between the core support services of the Kerala Start-up Mission and the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and to analyzethe moderating effect of entrepreneurial innovativeness on the relationshipbetween core support services and risk tolerance. The sample size of 384 isdetermined on random basis from a total population of 2650 Start Ups as on 31stDecember, 2022 according to Krejcie and Morgan’s formula. 18 Constructs wereused for the study to collect the samples. A well-designed questionnaire was usedto collect the primary data. A pilot study was conducted based on 50 samples tomeasure internal reliability. 16 Hypotheses in combined form were formulated andtested. The Analysis and Interpretation of Primary Data are presented in the Thesisin the fourth Chapter. Chapter consists of Parts of Analysis which cover theObjectives of the Study. Each Part again consists of an Introduction and aConclusion to facilitate easy understanding of the Analysis of the Data.The statistical tools used for analysis of data include mean, standarddeviation, one sample t test, independent t test and ANOVA with Tukey HSD’s posthoc analysis are used with the help of IBM SPSS 27 software package, Quartilesettings, Percentage Analysis and Chi-Square test for goodness of fit and Chi-squaretest, Co-variance Based Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CB-CFA) and StructuralEquation Modelling (SEM) techniques with chi square difference test, heterogeneitytest and bootstrapping procedures and simple slope curve graph. 84 specific findingswere derived from the study. By tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs ofentrepreneurs, the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kerala can be further improved,fostering a climate conducive to sustained innovation and economic growth, especiallythrough the Kerala Startup Mission. Theoretical and practical implications of the studywere observed and noted. Specific recommendations were made for the policymakers. Areas for future research were also suggested.
