The research scholar here conducts an analytical study on the 'Literary Value of Rarity in the Arabic Grammar', in order to realise the sought objectives, whereas this research deals with the following main questions: 1. What are the reasons for the phenomenon of Rarity in the Arabic Grammar? 2. How did the grammarians, linguists and translators approach the rarity? 3. How does the classical literature of Quran excel though there are rarities therein? 4. Is it justifiable for the creative writers to use rarities in their expressions? The research contains six chapters and forty seven parts. The research deals with the phenomenon of Rarity In the Arabic Grammar from various sides, such as its language, the words and expressions that carry the rarity concept, its causes and the technical terms suggested by the ancient grammarians with their examples in t_heir works etc... The study has been conducted on the approaches of the grammarians, translators and philologists when dealing with the rarity regarding its literary features. The research Scholar has displayed more than twenty model texts and more than fifty verses of the Holy Quran and has analyzed each of them going through the grammatical, literary and stylish aspects. The study has been complete with the following results: 1. This research indicates that the rarity in the grammar is an indivisible part of the Arabic Grammar and one of the phenomena of the 'Grammar expansion'. 2. This research reveals that the rarity in the classical, literary and modern texts of Arabic has gone out from the circle of the widely accepted grammatical rules, as it is not an unacceptable in the literature. 3. This research justifies that the grammatical rarity has undeniable role as well as creative value in the literature. 4. The research indicates that the phenomenon of the rarity appears in Arabic poetry on the basis of 'poetic necessity' and the notion that 'What is not allowed in other works is allowed in poetry''. 5. This research asserts that the abundance of presence of grammatical irregularity in the Arabic texts demands review of the criteria of general grammar rules whereas the Arabic Language is a developing lively being. 6. This research explains that there are 29 technical terms that carry the meaning and concept of rarity. These technical terms have come scattered in various authentic grammar books. 7. The research explains that there are seven disfigured names for the Rarity in the grammar books. They are: 'al-khata'u, 'al-Lahn, 'al- 1 ghalat', 'al munkar', 'al- qabeeh', 'al aib, 'al-da'eef. As these naming caused to the rarity being hated and led to avoiding it from the literary works to a great extent. 8. The research explains that the grammarians, linguists and translators dealt with the rarity treating it on the pretext of being peculiar imagination or interpretation or the necessity in the versification or the need of changing the grammatical structure or the phenomenon of the expanding language or the different linguistic dialects of Arab tribes .. 9. This research confirms that the political, religious,· economic power and its vested interests of the Arab tribes have great influence on formulation of the grammatical rules and they caused to quash the languages of the tribes which have less influence and to marginalize them as exceptional rules naming them rarity.1 O The research confirms that the high rhetorical value of the Holy Quran in which such rare usages are reveals the dignity of the rarity.en_US
